Differences of BUN and Serum Creatinine Values in Severity of Diabetic Ketoacidosis Patients at RSD dr. Seobandi Jember

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is an acute complication of diabetes mellitus classified as mild, moderate, and severe based on the severity metabolic acidosis level consciousness. As one hyperglycemic crisis, DKA causes kidney dysfunction which then trigger injury (AKI). High mortality rates, recurrent (repeated episodes), increased health care costs, risk further complications can occur due to AKI. Early detection AKI by renal function tests such blood urea nitrogen (BUN) serum creatinine be done because its easy method hence it widely used for routine evaluation. This study aims determine differences BUN values ​​in patients a prognostic markers associated with in RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. The design this was analytic observational using cross-sectional obtained from medical records 34 patients. results showed non-significant difference ​​(p=0.085) significant ​​(p=0.033) between DKA. Serum evinced more reliable indicator than marker setting risk.
